Church History

Established as a group in the 1980s, St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church (Prelacy) held services in rented halls for many years, until finally purchasing their existing building in 2003. The church was consecrated in 2005. Over the years the building has gone through numerous renovations including the addition of a dome and two bell towers in 2007. The dome’s stained glass windows were designed by Los Angeles based Armenian artist Simon Simonian of Progressive Art Stained Glass Studio. The final touches were completed on October 5th, 2008 when 3 large stone crosses were blessed and installed on top of the dome and bell towers.
